Highland Games - West of Scotland Rugby Ground 11-5pm Traditional Highland Games – caber-tossing; haggis-hurling; bagpipe-playing; Scottish dancing; fairgrounds; onsite catering; trade stalls and displays - FREE FUN for the whole family.

Young Art Experience - The Lillie - 10am -4pm - FREE Workshop  led by skilled art tutor Jen Binnie for teenagers aged up to 17yrs. - Collaborative project aimed at creating an art installation using print methods working to create an art installation at the Lillie. Book at the Lillie from 2nd June, numbers limited to 12 young people. FREE - No experience required

Milngavie Precinct all morning - Age 7 and under 11am-12pm & Age 8 to 11 12-1pm - Pick up your quiz sheet (£1.00) from the McCarthy and Stone shop and find the clues around the precinct to win a prize.

Photography exhibition of the ten finalists in this year’s photography competition. Do you agree with the judge?!

Spot the Error - The return of the popular competition for young people (adults keep out of it!). Buy your entry form (£1.00) from the McCarthy & Stone PopUp shop, then go round the precinct and find the 20 items that should not be in these shop windows.

Primary Art Exhibition - Local shop windows - All Primary Six pupils in local schools have submitted art work to be displayed in shops throughout the precinct. Come and spot everyone’s work.

QUIZ AND RAFFLE - available from

Rotary Stall and McCarthy & Stone PopUp shop 

Buy your Quiz Sheet (£1.00 )on Scottish place names and be the winner. All sheets are also entered into a raffle (First Prize a bottle of Glengoyne 10 year old malt whisky)

How to get your Book Published - Milngavie Library - 2:30pm-4pm - Hear from authors A.C Clarke, Myra Duffy, Joan Flemming, Michael J Malone, Leela Soma & Palo Stickland as they describe their experiences in getting their work published, including short readings. Raffle of signed copies of books. FREE

Pond Dipping - find out about Nymphs and Leeches - Milngavie Library and Education Centre 6:30pm - 7:30pm -Mugdock Rangers show children (accompanied by an adult) how to dip for everything from nymphs to leeches. FREE

Debating Competition - 1.30pm

Douglas Academy

The final of the high-quality P7 and S1 debating competition. Members of the public welcome to come and listen to the speeches and questioning. FREE entry

Children's Essay Competition - Published inMilngavie and Bearsden Herald

Read the winning essay in the 500 word “flash fiction” for second and third year pupils in todays’ local paper. The topic is 'My life without a smartphone'

Craft Demonstration - Fraser Centre 2-4pm

Come and watch members of local craft groups show you how to be creative in a range of crafts – embroidery, knitting, weaving, spinning and dying, silk painting, jewellery, painting. FREE entry

Friday 15th June

Pond Dipping find out about the Tiny Creatures in the Riverbed - 6:30pm-7:30pm - Allander water – Clober Road car park - hosted by Mugdock Rangers

 

Food Assembly Taster Session - 4pm-6pm - Fraser Centre - As well as the usual sale of food, stall holders will be offering FREE tasting of their produce.

Saturday 16th June

Classic Car Show - 10am-4pm in the precinct.  Hosted by Milngavie BID with over 70 classic cars and a wide range of stalls and activities throughout the day

Duck Race - From Precinct Depart at 2.45pm Sponsor your plastic duck (£1.00) from Rotary Stall at Highland Games, McCarthy & Stone PopUp shop and stall at Classic Car Show. Ducks travel down the River Allander from Tesco at 3.00pm to bridge in Lennox Park. Proceeds to charity

 

Free Kids' Events -Fraser Centre 1.30 – 4pm

Bring your under-5 to take part in Jo Jingles music and movement (1.30 – 2.30), and then Gymboree play and learn (2.45 – 3.45). FREE

Musical Performances -  Mugdock Road in Precinct 10am - 4pm

A very wide range of musical performance by local musicians including jazz, choirs and folk throughout the day.

Monday Swing Band concert - 7:30pm – 10pm - Town Hall Performance by the “Monday Swing Band” in an informal setting. (Interval 8.30-9.00). Dancing possible

Floral Walk around Milngavie  and plant stall by Milngavie in Bloom  in Milngavie Precinct

Milngavie in Bloom sale of plants and walk round town centre to see the work of this award-winning group.

Youth Football Festival - West of Scotlnd Rugby Club. 9am - 6pm 

Open days for all community. Matches on seven pitches for teams in all age groups. Sessions run by coaches. Additional activities for all the family.

Craft drop-in St Andrews Church Hall 11am – 3pm Come and learn how to do block printing of greeting cards, led by the Dorcas Group. £5.00 donation
